Gestalt therapy– holistic and humanistic approach

There are times in life when relationship with oneself and with the outside world can become complicated.

This might be experienced in your professional environment, social life, within your family or in your intimate relationships.
It might have been triggered by an event, a life situation or maybe it is a state of being that you have been carrying for a long time.
You might experience chronic stress, anxiety or maybe a cocktail of feelings that are difficult to define.

The therapeutic practice is a sanctuary that allows you to be authentic, true to yourself, interacting with a supportive, non-judgmental and caring therapist.

Our focus is your life here and now.
Together we explore what is present in your life.
By sharing your stories you will increase your awareness.

We welcome your emotions, thoughts, and believes and through a process of self-search, to possibly create a link with your past that will help you to find an understanding of your experiences.

Through this process you will better understand your difficulties to be able to move towards an adjustment in the way of being, perceiving and interacting, freeing yourself from past conditioning, moving towards an increased inner freedom that will help you make choices that will move you towards an increased quality of life.

This will help you:
- improve your life quality
- to be in touch with your emotions and needs
- To gain self-confidence and take action
- To heal your wounds, increase your ability to accept, appreciate and love yourself
- metabolize your story
- change the dynamics of a relationship
- move towards a complete change of life - change of work, separation from a dysfunctional couple etc.
- a better understanding of others

There as to get out of repetitive dysfunctional patterns of thoughts, choices and behaviors.

A journey of self-development while respecting your personality, values and rhythm.

Philosophy :

The philosophy of Gestalt and our practice is that we are the creator of our lives.
We do not need to be stuck in our past.
It is possible to free ourselves from our blockages to be able to make different choices that will lead us to a fulfilling life.
For this you’ll have to take time to self-care; to get to know yourself, heal your wounds, accept and appreciate yourself and in this process move towards new ways of doing, perceiving, and being in a gentle and progressive way.
This is a process. It is a journey. A journey done together, you and the therapist as your observer, guide and safe haven of support.

The History of Gestalt

Gestalt was created by the German Friedrich Perls, a former disciple of Freud and neuropsychiatrist, and his wife Laura Posner, a doctor of psychology in the 1950s in the United States.

Gestalt Humanist School, IFAS, Arnaud Sebal

It remains in the idea of Pearls that we are the creators of our lives, integrating Western and Eastern philosophies and spirituality as well as developmental theories, continually updated by new research in neuroscience and epigenetics.

The traditional approach can be quite confrontive

The humanistic approach is much softer, more compassionate though still powerful

Who am I ?

My name is Kay

I am a Norwegian/Japanese and I have been living here in Paris since my early 20th.

I came here to dance and then I stayed on.

I have grown up and lived in different parts of the world;

In Norway, Japan, Bangladesh and the UK,

and now most of my adult life in France.

I feel influenced by and a belonging to all these countries.

They are all close to my heart.

At the same time I can relate to the different challenges one might experience being a foreigner in a country.

My early career was a dancer, and then I went on to become a yoga and Pilates teacher.

I opened one of the first Pilates studios here in Paris, France in 2004, which I still run and where I still teach.

My own self search brought me to the Gestalt therapy – a humanistic approach in 2009.

I have been counseling since 2016

I truly believe in healing through therapy,

and that we are all capable of change.

I am very comfortable in giving sessions in English although it is not my mother tongue.
